Reordering Menu Items

ProPhoto 4′s expanded menu area allows for your to put links in just about any order you would like. Simply create your links in “ProPhoto” > “Customize” > “Menus”.

Click here for an overview of the entire menus area.

  • You can drag-and-drop them in the order your want horizontally

  • You can drag-and-drop them inside of another link to create a dropdown link

  • You can even create multiple layers of dropdowns by dropping new links inside previously embedded links
  • You can reorder menu links within a dropdown using drag-and-drop as well. Grab a link, holding down your mouse button until your cursor is right above or below another link. You will see the area expand slightly when the link is ready to be dropped.

Categories Order

If you would like to change the order that WordPress puts your categories categories dropdown or a categories widget, you can create a manual dropdown with a menu item for each, or you can use a WordPress plugin.

We have found that this one works well:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/order-categories/

(Note: the plugin called “my-order-category” does not work with ProPhoto. Confusing!)

This particular option can be found by logging into your site's admin area and going to:
"Appearance" > "P3 Customize" > "Menu" > "Reorder Menu Items"

ProPhoto 3 allows you a limited ability to re-order you menu items.  This option area allows you to simply drag and drop your links to change the order they appear in your nav menu.

There are a few important qualifiers regarding this feature.  First, your “Blogroll” links (“Links” > “Link categories”) can only be moved as a single item (see above).  WordPress handles your Link Categories as a single chunk of code, so if you have a link category of “Information”, and another “Galleries”, you couldn’t put one on the far left and then other on the far right.  These “Blogroll” dropdown menus have to stick together.

What about links within dropdown menus?

Good question, with a lot of different answers.  Here are solutions for the available dropdown menus:

No. Not in this version of ProPhoto.

This has been an often-requested feature, though, so we have firm plans to include this ability in future versions of ProPhoto.

Sorry!
