Installing WordPress and ProPhoto requires that you have your own domain name with a compatible web-hosting account.. If you aren't sure if you have what you need, or what that means, look over this page for more information, and then come back to proceed.

If you're starting from scratch, and buying a new domain and hosting, OR if you need a second domain and hosting because your existing website is hosted by an incompatible webhost, this video will show you how:
If you use one of our links to sign up with Bluehost, our recommended hosting provider, we'll give you a $30 rebate off the price of ProPhoto. Details here.

If you have valid hosting then you need to proceed to installing WordPress on your webhosting account. Remember, a blog at wordpress.com like (yourblog.wordpress.com) can't be used for a ProPhoto blog. If you already have a WordPress installation on your own webhosting account, then you can proceed directly to installing the ProPhoto theme.
NOTE: If you purchased a Handheld Installation package, then you don't need to follow this tutorial. If you haven't done so already, go to www.prophotoblogs.com/expert-install-form and submit your webhosting information to our installation team. They will install WordPress and ProPhoto for you, and contact you when they are done.

To install ProPhoto, you first log into your WordPress blog's admin area. If you just set up your blog and aren't sure how to get to the login screen, click here for help.
Once you're logged in, in the left-hand main menu area, click 'Settings' => 'Appearance' => 'Themes'.
Next, click the 'Install Themes' tab and click on the 'Upload' link near the top of the page (see above). Then click on 'browse' and select the 'prophoto3.zip' file that you downloaded to your computer after purchasing ProPhoto 3.
You should see messages telling you that the ProPhoto 3 theme is uploading. This could take a minute or so, so just be patient until the process completes. After uploading, you should see the following on your screen.
Just click 'Activate', and your ProPhoto theme is up and running!
If you have a problem:
In some cases, at the beginning of this process, Wordpress will ask you for your FTP login information. Or, you may get an error message during the upload process, or the process will simply freeze up during one of the steps. If that's you, just select the option for more help below.
-
In certain instances, after selecting the ProPhoto zip file to upload, Wordpress will request your FTP login information like this:
Instead of your blog's login information, you need to enter your webhosting FTP login information here. If you don't know this info, you can contact your webhosting company and ask them for it (we don't manage this login information for you, so don't contact us for it). Once you enter valid FTP information, Wordpress should be able to proceed with uploading the ProPhoto theme, and you can click on the 'Activate' link after it is done.
If you can't get the FTP theme uploader to work, or if you had any other type of error or failure during the theme upload process, you will need to upload the ProPhoto manually. See here for instructions in installing ProPhoto manually and then come back here when finished.

The installation process is now complete. But don't run off yet! If you take about 15 minutes to make sure you've watched the five videos on the below-linked page, you'll have a lot quicker success using ProPhoto and WordPress.
